Tutorial and Other arrangements for Chinese

 Language timetables and other information for all years are on the Centre for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language website (www.ctcfl.ox.ac.uk), under ‘Student Diary’. 

The Consultative meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday of 7th week (3 June) at 3.30 p.m. Anyone with items of business should notify Dr Newby one week in advance.

 

Fourth year

Revision classes: Students should contact the relevant teachers to arrange revision sessions.

Option texts: contact the relevant tutor. 

Zhuangzi discussion class.  As stated on the Lecture List this will be held on Wednesdays at 11am.  In 2nd week ONLY this class will be held at 9am.

Poetry revision

These classes will take place in Wadham on Thursday at 2 pm (group 1) and 3pm (group 2) in 2nd week (1st May) and 3rd week (8th May).

Third year

History tutorials

Dr De Weerdt will contact the following: Jacoby, Kelly, Keyes, Ngyyen, Ruszkowski, Taylor, Vittet-Adamson and Templer .
 
Chao, Cook, Daly, Dickenson, Gardner, Goulden and Green should see  Dr Newby in her at 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday 22nd (1st week) to arrange tutorials.
 

Classical texts: Tamhon Yon’gi, will be taught on Wednesdays at 11 in Rm 207 (and not on Thursdays at 10 as stated on the Lecture List).

 

Dissertations

There will be meetings for all students to give a brief presentation on the topic of their dissertation on Friday of 7th week (6th June) at 2.15 pm. All students must attend. A schedule of presentations will be posted later in the term. Please contact Dr Newby if you have not yet identified a supervisor.

Literature option: Please purchase a copy of ‘Gu Xiang’ from the office and begin to prepare the text. The first class will be on Friday of 1st week (there will be not be a class on Tuesday of 1st week).

First Year

Mods Topics. Please sign up on the accompanying list by Monday of 1st Week (21st April). Dr De Weerdt would like to see those who sign up for her option in her room on Friday 25 April (1st week) at 9am. Other tutors will contact their students by email. Please note that the options Chinese Cities, Traditional Fiction and Non-Han will not be available next year.

Elementary classes will take place as usual on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10.

 In weeks 1-3. Dr Biljana Scott will give four lectures on Linguistics: Thursday of 1st week, on Tuesday and Thursday of 2nd week, and Tuesday of 3rd week. Ms Song will teach the other hours.
