Basic Spoken Mandarin 3. Taking a taxi
Do you remember that we said in the previous lesson: the subject of a sentence should be placed at the beginning and it should be followed by the predicate (verb and object)? Well, we have a complex sentence construction in this lesson. In this lesson you have to remember that Chinese word order often reflects sequence of actions. For example if you want to say a taxi driver "I am getting off here." In Chinese it will be in the following order I (am) here, getting off car: wŏ zhèr xià chē (我)这儿下车. Based on the above example, how do you say "I am getting off at the hotel"?
