The British Chinese Language Teaching Society (BCLTS)

The British Chinese Language Teaching Society (BCLTS) is an organization of Chinese Language Teachers in the universities and other language teaching institutions in the UK. It is also a sub-group of the British Association for Chinese Studies (BACS). Its objective is to improve the teaching of Chinese language in the UK by means of exchanging teaching experience and teaching materials. At present, two events are held annually to achieve this goal, one workshop and one symposium.

How to become a member

BCLTS Full Membership is open to teacher who is teaching Chinese in UK high education institutes and agrees with the missions of BCLTS. To join the membership, please download the enrolment form, complete it and email it back with two names of referee at the address indicated on the form. The period covered by membership dues is from 1st October to 30th September.

Associate members include MA/PhD students, Chinese teachers in primary or high schools and from Confucius Institutes

*Renewal associate membership fee remains unchanged.
*New full member who paid membership fee by before 31st Mar can attend BCLTS conference/ workshop with the financial support.
Membership fees should be paid by cheque. Please make cheque payable to University of Oxford and send cheque to the following address:
