Tasks for A, a Chinese student who is looking for accommodation
Make the conversation as realistic as possible by greeting each other at the beginning and by using small talk. Try to anticipate the flow of the conversation by looking at the following prompts.
- You have seen an advertisement in the paper saying somebody called Li Ming is looking for an English speaker to be a tenant (房客 fángkè N). (See advertisement 3.) Ask B for further details.
- Tell B that you can offer 2-3 hours of English lessons a week.
- Ask B how much the rent would be.
- Accept the offer.
- Ask B for his or her address.
