China puts 2 astronauts in orbit

China's second piloted spacecraft, the Shenzhou 6, blasted off Wednesday morning from the space center in the country's northwest, beginning a five-day mission orbiting the Earth.

Shortly after liftoff, Prime Minister Wen Jiabao was shown discussing the mission with flight engineers at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province.

The Shenzhou 6 is a slightly modified version of the craft used two years ago, when China launched its first astronaut into orbit.
