Question: It is late, but your Chinese friend is still working in the dormitory. Tell her that if she does not hurry she will not get any food in the canteen.

Hint 1   Conditional sentence: use ... 就 ... sentence pattern
Hint 2   吃 不 到 饭 cannot get food to eat

Comments  Alternatively: 快 去 餐 厅 吧, 要 不 就 吃 不 到 饭 了 kuài qù cāntīng ba, yàobu jiù chī bu dào fàn le, or 快 去 餐 厅 吧, 要 是 晚 了, 就 吃 不 到 饭 了 kuài qù cāntīng ba, yàoshi wăn le, jiù chī bu dào fàn le. 要 不 yàobu means otherwise. 了 le at the end of the sentence implies a change of situation. The 了 le which is placed after 晚 wăn is used for the 'excessiveness' pattern, as in 太 晚 了 tài wăn le too late.
