Question: Your friend has been complaining about having too many grammar exercises. Agree with him, and tell him that as a result you can't go to the pub very often nowadays.

Comments  Alternatively: 是 啊， 所 以 我 现 在 不 能 常 去 酒 吧 了 shì a,  shǒuyǐ wǒ xiànzài bù néng cháng qù jiǔbā le. The expression 可 不 是吗 kě bú shì ma is in the form of a rhetorical question, which is used to agree with other people's opinions in colloquial conversation. 可 不 是吗 kě bú shì ma is often followed by a statement reinforcing the expressed opinion. For instance, one person says 小 丁 的 字 写 得 可 真 漂 亮 Xiǎo Dīng de zì xiě de kě zhēn piàoliang Xiao Ding writes characters very beautifully, and another person agrees by saying 可 不 是吗, 很 多 同 学 都 想 学 他 写 的 字 kě bú shì ma,  hěn duō tóngxué dōu xiǎng xué tā xiě de zì yes indeed, many classmates want to learn [imitate] his way of writing.
