Comments  的 de can be omitted when 你 nĭ, 我 wŏ and 他 tā refer to family relations such as 爸 爸 bàba, 妈 妈 māma, 哥 哥 gēge, 姐 姐 jiějie, 弟 弟 dìdi and 妹 妹 mèimei...; to people with whom one is in regular contact such as 朋 友 péngyou and 老 师 lăoshī...  我 弟 弟 wŏ dìdi my younger brother, 她 朋 友 tā péngyou her friend; and to places with which one is closely related such as 家 jiā and 学 校 xuéxiào... 你 家 nĭ jiā your home.
