Question: Someone has told your Chinese teacher that you drank too much last night. Tell the teacher that you only had two glasses of beer.

wŏ zhĭ hēle liăng bēi píjiǔ. The aspectual marker 了 le should be placed after the verb when the object of a sentence is preceded by other elements such as: numbers + measure words; and descriptive clauses + 的 de. For instance, 今 天 上 午 小 王 买 到 了 你 要 的 那 本 书 jīntiān shàngwǔ Xiăo Wáng măi dao le nĭ yào de běn shū this morning Xiao Wang bought the book which you wanted.
