Comments  Alternatively: 我 把 你 当 成 小 李 了 wǒ bǎ nǐ dāngchéng Xiǎo Lǐ le. 以 为 yǐwéi is a verb, which means to be under the (mistaken) impression that: 我 以 为 今 天 星 期 天 呢 wǒ yǐwéi jīntiān xīngqī tiān ne I thought today was Sunday. 还 ... 呢 hái…ne is used to emphasise a statement that the speaker admits is a mistake. In some other situations this expression has a tone of irony: 你 还 睡 觉 呢! 不 看 看 几 点 了 nǐ hái shuì jiào ne, bú kànkan jǐ diǎn le! Still asleep! Have you seen what time it is?
