How to use the materials

1. Learn the Vocabulary and Sentence patterns of each text.

2. Read through the sentences in red in the Text first and translate them into English. (Listening to the sound files will help you to improve your ability in comprehension.)

3. Analyse the full sentences by labelling the components of the sentences with "subject", "verb" and "object".

4. Study the Chinese word order of each Text by analysing the positions of predicators (the main verbs and objects) in Chinese sentences.

5. Read though the Translation exercises before starting translation.

6. Analyse the English sentences by labelling the components of the sentences with "subject", "verb" or "object".

7. Try to re-arrange the sentences according to the Chinese word order.

8. Translate the exercises into Chinese.
